How to pray for your future husband?

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV

Pray that your husband: is loving

Ephesians 5:25 NIV

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

Mark 12:30 NIV

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Prayer 1

Lord,

All throughout your word we are taught to love one another completely, in all circumstances in life. So, I pray that my husband exemplifies great love for me as his wife, according to the standard of Christ. Teach him how to be a loving husband and teach him your ways. Show him your standard of how he should love me as his wife as I submit to him, in a way that truly glorifies you Lord.

Pray that your husband: honors you as his wife.

1 Peter 3:7 NLT

In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayer will not be hindered.

Father,

I pray that my husband respects me, with high esteem according to your standard. Let their be great communication between us, at all times throughout our life together. Grant him more favor in his prayers to you Lord, as he submits himself to you and your excellence. Enable us to be exceptional partners together and a great team, in Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: is a provider

1 Timothy 5:8 NIV

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Prayer 3

Lord,

Allow my husband to effortlessly provide all that you have called him to, as the leader and provider. Lord, you are the ultimate source so I know all that we receive is coming from you. I trust that since you have set that standard for him to be a provider, you will make a way for him to deliver it. I ask for more grace to be upon him. Give him the confidence that he needs, so that he can confidently accomplish and complete what he needs to carry out. Send unusual favor and provision. Reduce any stress that may be placed upon him. I declare that wealth, riches and passive income is our portion. There will always be more than enough, in all aspects so that we can be a blessing to others as well, in Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: seeks after purity

2 Timothy 2:22 NLT

Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.

Prayer 4

Father,

Let purity be at the forefront of his heart. Help him to make wise decisions and to walk according to your ways. Completely uproot and pluck out anything that is causing unfruitfulness in his life. Show him everything that may be contaminating his heart, mind, or body, so that he can work on changing it, and align more with you. Help him to guard his heart against anything that is dishonorable to you. In Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: is gentle and compassionate

Colossians 3:19 ESV

Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

Father,

Teach my husband to be gentle and compassionate with me, just as Jesus is. Illustrate to him the importance of showing gentleness to his wife, as a husband. Show him how to be loving, even during the moments where he doesn't know how. Help him to always surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Empower him to be protective. Lastly, I pray that he is respectful to all women, in all aspects. In Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: always puts Christ first

Ephesians 5:23 ESV

For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its savior.

1 Corinthians 11:3 NIV

But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

Prayer 6

Father God,

Help my husband to maintain a relationship with you, as the head of the house. Give him the grace to be powerful in the spirit and always on fire for you. Help him to consistently keep his eyes on completing his purpose, according to what you have appointed before him to fulfill when you created him. In Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: has self control and can resist sexual temptation

1 Corinthians 6:18 NIV

Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.

Prayer 7

Father God,

I pray that you help my husband to have self control, discipline, and patience to fight against any temptations of sexual immorality. I pray that he becomes a man after your own heart like David, so that he can flee from porn, fornication, adultery, and self pleasure if the enticement arises. If he does fall, remind him that your grace is sufficient for him and that the righteous man may fall seven times but rises up again. Remind him to walk in the spirit and not of the flesh when these desires and temptations arise before him. Help him to have Godly morals for his life and body. In Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: is sanctified and protected

2 Thessalonians 3:3 NIV

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Prayer 8

Father God,

I pray for the health and the wellbeing of my husband, his mental and physical health. I declare that he is covered in the blood of Jesus Christ. I ask that you send your angels to encamp around him according to your word and protect him from all of the attacks that the enemy brings his way. Continue to strengthen his spiritman and be his strength, when his own strength fails him. I pray that You destroy every fiery dart that the enemy uses to manipulate his life or to weaken his spiritual life. In Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: has a strong prayer life & has the ability to teach you spiritual things

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NIV

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Prayer 9

Lord,

I pray that my husband is reminded that he is a warrior. I pray that he is reminded that he is victorious. Remind him that every problem that arises, already has a solution because of the blood of Jesus that speaks for him. I pray that everything that the enemy would use to kill his prayer life would be destroyed. in the name of Jesus Christ. Let your power fall from heaven upon his head, to refresh him and his spiritman. Please make him brand new everyday. When he is weak, revive him back to health spiritually, so that he can continue on with strong endurance. Even in the most hopeless situations, remind him that you are a God that makes the impossible possible. Give him strong discernment, so that he can spot his enemies and fight against attacks to be steps ahead and win battles with your refinement. In Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: is patient and dedicated to you and your family

Genesis 29:20 NIV

So Jacob served 7 years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her.

Prayer 10

Lord,

Please grant my husband with unusual grace, to have patience with me in all things. Give him patience in every single area of his life. Allow the patience that he has, to become infused with love so that he can truly let the flow of the Holy Spirit engulf him in times where his flesh is weak. Remind him consistently of the patience that you've had with him, so that he can be reminded with examples of how beautiful it is to receive the gift of patience from others. In Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: has wisdom

James 1:5 NIV

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Prayer 11

Father,

Since my husband is the leader of the family, I pray that he is always fully connected to you. I pray that at all times he's able to hear your instructions and directions, so that we can do what you have commanded us to do. I pray that we commit to you in all things and successfully establish what you have laid before us. Allow him to retain the wisdom that he has learned throughout his life, as you pour into him more. In Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: doesn't give up easily and that he has spiritual endurance to handle difficult times that come.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day- and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Prayer 12

Father God,

Sustain the spiritual strength of my husband, even in his weakest times. Show him that your power will never leave him. Give him the ability to endure hard trials. Remind him of the great reward that he has waiting for him, because of the endurance that he travails through. Help him to remain persistent and consistent with fighting through attacks, even when he doesn't see a way out. Remind him that it is You who fights his battles. Remind him that his authority is a gift from you. Allow him to see the fruits of his labor. Allow him to flourish and see the day of his breakthrough. I declare that he will not suffer in vain. Allow him to enjoy his blessings when they finally arrive, after the trials. In Jesus name I pray,

Pray that your husband: is a hard worker but he also knows to put most of his work ethic into the Lord

Colossians 3:23 NIV

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Prayer 13

Lord,

Bless my husband with the grace to work and see an abundance of outstanding rewards, above and beyond all that he even imagines for himself. Shock him every time. But remind him that the true abundance enters into his life through the work that he does for your kingdom. You are our provider and our source for provision, so remind my husband to put his full confidence in you and the security that you bring, not his job. Remind him that when situations begin to shift and things look uncertain, you will still provide abundantly and meet all needs, with or without a job. In Jesus name I pray,

Amen.

Pray that your husband: has great love for children so that when you're building a family he can see the importance of building healthy relationships with them

Ephesians 6:4 NIV

Fathers do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Prayer 14

Father God,

I pray that my husband has great love for children. Teach him how to be a great father, so that even in moments where he is questioning himself, the Holy Spirit will correct or assure him in his ways. I pray that when we have children, he is confident in his role as a father. I pray that he is a great role model for his children. I pray that he raises up our children to be bold children for the kingdom of God and help them to be bold and rise up, to create a generation that is filled with the love of Christ. In Jesus name I pray,

• He hears the voice of the Lord
